Beech Fresco Vulcano Arco and Arcolino

A floor with a three-dimensional surface, but fine enough to walk on barefoot, made of real wood and also ideal for extreme conditions - that is the NEW product made by mafi in Upper Austria.

ARCO - Italian for bow. An apt description for a mafi natural wooden floor which earns its place in the mafi Fresco collection by its uniqueness and striking character.

Innovations born from Responsibility

The dark brown colour of the beech-dark delivers a stylish exclamation to any room, without being too dominant. mafi consistently pursues the holistic use of native woods, which has led to the fact that these woods are also available in dark colours thanks to a natural thermal process. Another advantage is the reduction of the so-called swelling and shrinkage behaviour of wood, or put more simply, the movement of the wood is limited.

A noticeable difference

The real highlight of this innovative product is the three-dimensional surface. Arcolino refers to a very fine and lightly textured surface, whereas Arco is a strong and raised structure. Especially when barefoot the feel is of a fine experience for our stressed-out feet in the hectic everyday life. In addition, the special surface makes the floor extremely robust, as the softer parts of the wood have been removed.

Arco and Arcolino - both options are therefore suitable for heavy usage such as in the catering or hospitality industries. A characteristic of all mafi natural wooden floors is the surface finishing with natural oil; however the term surface in itself brings to mind something different. The oil penetrates deeply into the plank and provides optimal quality from the inside out. The wood can breathe, gives off a pleasant smell and can absorb water. Other surface treatments usually leave a thin layer on the surface and thus seal the underlying material.

New products in the new Vienna flagship store (including video)

The new product was presented to more than 150 guests from the architecture and design industry as part of the opening of the mafi Flagship store in Vienna, on the Schotten ring. Currently, a small selection of the Arco and Arcolino are shown in the gallery showroom located in the prestigious 1st district in Vienna. "It pleases me very much to be the first flagship store worldwide to present our two new products," explains Thomas Bühler, Store Manager of the mafi Flagship store in Vienna. "Our concept is similar to a modern gallery, but for walkable works of art. Just like our floors, we create here in this old building the bridge between tradition and innovation.
