The classic of country house planks is interpreted in a modern way with the grey oiled surface, but still retains its vitality.

The Oak Country is one of the most successful products worldwide in the mafi portfolio. If you are looking for a country house plank, you will find it with the Oak Country. With a strong grain and harmoniously criss-crossed with knots and scattered cracks, this floor creates an authentic and natural base for almost any room concept.

The play on supposed rusticity

Looking at the Oak Country plank in isolation, you might quickly conclude that it's a very traditional floor. However, the way the room appears at the end is always dependent on the overall concept. Of course, the Oak Country can perfectly complement a rustic approach. Increasingly however, we find projects with our customers that mix the styles and play with contrasts.

Modern shapes, cool colours and clean lines are combined with a genuine natural wood floor, to give more comfort to the room. An important element in the room design is the colour of the oiling of the parquet. With the grey oiled Oak Country, the floor gets a look similar to a long and hard-earned patina. The lively structure of the grading ensures the colour differences remain and yet still create a continuous play of colours. Especially with the grey oiled surface, the mafi Oak Country is given a bit of rusticity without losing the authenticity of the wood.

Visually certainly comparable, but qualitatively not

Visually, there are many similar products on the market. A rustic Oak grading can now be found on almost all floor coverings, ranging from laminates, Asian imports and on to European manufacturers. Hidden behind the same-looking appearance is however an extremely wide range in terms of quality, which is decisive in the robustness and durability of the planks.

mafi natural wood floors have always been, right from the outset, built with optimum stability, longevity and naturalness. Stability is ensured through the high-quality, symmetrical plank structure made from the same wood, same thermal treatment and finished thickness.

The surface of mafi planks is finished with natural oils that penetrate deeply into the wood and protect from the inside out. Thus, people come into direct contact with the wood and do not have to walk on a laminated layer. The floor can be simply repaired which greatly increases the service life. Cleaning is done easily with warm water and soap. A subsequent re-oiling is not usually necessary in private homes.

In terms of naturalness, mafi boasts simplicity. The floor consists of wood, white glue and oil - that’s it! The white glue consists of natural ingredients such as vinegar and is completely VOC and formaldehyde free. The mafi wood floor oil is a linseed-based oil and requires no drying chemicals. The sum of these natural ingredients or rather the absence of chemicals brought mafi the “red list free” certification which confirms that it is a 100% natural product.

The sum of these positive properties of mafi natural wood floors forms the basis for all our products.
