Larch Vulcano, brushed and white oiled

The Alpine interior style is experiencing a renaissance, however as a counterpart to modern style. With a strong structure and vivid colours, yet nestled in a contemporary design - the LARCH Vulcano is a real feel-good factor.

"The LARCH Vulcano is a floor with character, which in combination with a white oiled surface turns it into modern parquet for a variety of different room designs."

mafi’s Alpine collection includes a wide range of different types of wood, from Douglas Fir, Spruce, Fir, Stone Pine and onto Larch. The latter has a long tradition in mafi and along with Oak was one of the first types of wood in the portfolio. The Larch is considered, among the conifers, as one of the most durable wood species. The grain is strong and the surface optic is interlaced with various knots.

The LARCH Vulcano is subjected to a special thermal treatment. Here only water, wind and heat are used. The result delivers various advantages. On one hand, the wood is practically caramelised which greatly reduces the swelling and shrinking behaviour. In addition, the original colour changes from light to dark. The natural colour variations of the wood are enhanced through this mafi Vulcano treatment, which results in the LARCH Vulcano being a lively floor with colour tones from light yellow to deep brown.

It is this variance in the colours which gives soul and character to rooms that might rely on sobering, reduced concepts. Lengths of up to five metres provide the necessary liberalness. The white oiled surface creates an additional satin finish. The strong colour tones are easily mitigated and offer a timeless natural wooden floor for all kinds of room designs.
