The mafi Domino collection
The Domino Larch Vulcano belongs to the Domino collection by mafi, the Austrian specialist for natural wood floors. It includes two different types of wood, with Larch and Ash. The cross-sections of wood are moulded into the surface of the floor - thus, we speak of the so-called end-grain wood. The nominated Larch wood is slightly brighter than Ash. This allows the individual year rings to particularly set the scene.
End-grain floors with long tradition
End-grain floors have a long tradition in Austria: due to their high robustness they have been used for many years, for example in workshops. For the Domino Larch Vulcano floor, mafi interpreted this historical style in a modern way. The chemical-free thermo treatment of the natural wood and the finishing with natural oils provide the genuine wood floor experience to the fore.
Colour play as design element
The contemporary natural wood flooring in the Domino design consists of a variety of 4 x 4 cm end-grain elements, which are individually applied to parquet net. The finished product impressively highlights the natural colours of the wood. The international experts Jury of the German design award have not hidden this inspiring design competence. Instead, they pay tribute to the original staging of the beauty of the natural material with their nomination for this prestigious award.
