Biophilic
This interior design style aims to bring nature back into our homes. This can be achieved in a variety of ways: from plants, moss, or wood to organic shapes reminiscent of nature.
Typical of the Biophilic Style
- Natural tones
- Organic shapes in architecture and furniture
- Large windows, ideally with a view of greenery
- Plants, moss, wood, stone
Basic Guidelines
The easier version of this style is to place all kinds of plants in pots in the living space. This is another way to create a green concept reminiscent of nature.
However, if the plants are planned as an essential part of the construction, very exciting options are possible. For example, trees can be integrated directly into the floor of the sun gallery.
Materials
The naturalness of the materials is essential. Wood and plants always form the basis of biophilic design. The more, the better.
Wooden floors and furniture radiate warmth and contribute to the concept, especially in terms of tactility. A variety of green plants give the whole thing an organic, natural look—ideally, as if you were standing in a forest.

Typical Color Scheme
Here, too, nature sets the tone. All kinds of green tones are combined with warm, natural brown tones. The more these colors and materials are used, the more you feel like you are in a forest.
A minimalist design can also combine these colors with light beige tones.
Furniture & Furnishings
Wooden furniture is particularly popular for interior designs in this style. This includes rustic pieces made of natural wood as well as designer pieces with organic shapes.
Our Fresco Duna is a special way to bring even more nature indoors: with its milled waves, it not only looks natural, but feels natural too.
