Dark Wood Floors
Dark natural wood floors are timeless, elegant, and thanks to our chemical-free thermo-treatment, they are no longer problematic. Instead of endangered tropical woods, mafi offers exclusively European wood species. With the treatment, we achieve a rich dark brown even in woods like oak throughout the entire top layer - without the use of ammonia or ammonium like in smoking.
Other wood species like beech, larch, or ash are also part of our range for medium to dark brown floors.
How is our dark Color Spectrum created?
To achieve dark tones in lighter, domestic woods, we use our innovative Vulcano thermal treatment. The boards are practically baked using only heat, water, and air. Depending on the duration and intensity of the treatment, it can result in a medium to nearly black tone. The wood becomes uniformly dark, making repairs easy.
Our portfolio is complemented by naturally dark woods like the exquisite walnut.
ASH in grey and graphite grey oiling
Ash impresses with its similarity to oak in terms of robustness and its unique grain pattern. The Cor Ash features a vibrant color play, which, when combined with the graphite grey oiling, creates a beautiful and uniform appearance. The traditional grey oiling is available for the Uni Ash and achieves a slightly more softened result.
OAK Vulcano Medium
Here, the name says it all: Oak Vulcano Medium is medium brown, in other words, a middle brown. It can be classified in the lighter brown range. Its colors resemble caramel or dark honey. The natural oil accentuates the warm color of the wood, while white oil significantly lightens it.
OAK Vulcano
Warm, deep dark brown describes the unique color tone of Oak Vulcano best. The color play of Oak Vulcano is particularly stunning when the parquet is installed in a large room.
Each plank is distinct, and no two are identical. Rich chocolate-colored planks alternate with elements in a slightly lighter shade, creating a visually striking effect.
The Beech Vulcano Fresco
The very noble dark brown of the thermally treated beech planks is particularly well-suited for classic interior concepts, as it has few knots or grain patterns. When milled in 3D, the beech parquet impresses not only with its elegant appearance but also with the massaging effect when walking barefoot on the planks. Used as a creative wall installation, beech quickly becomes an eye-catcher.
Walnut Parquet
Walnut is one of the hardest hardwoods, known for its exceptional durability. Its visual appeal is equally impressive. What sets walnut apart is its exquisite color spectrum. Rich chocolate brown blends with light sapwood accents, creating an intriguing surface pattern. The natural oil finish enhances this elegant grain pattern, while the white oil finish results in a more uniform and cooler appearance.
OAK Vulcano Nero
The darkest parquet in the mafi color spectrum is the Nero Oak. The deep dark brown oak wood strongly resembles the color of tropical wenge wood, one of the darkest woods in existence. With Nero Oak, colored furniture or vibrant art prints on the walls stand out particularly well.
