Light Wood Floors
Natural tones with a cool touch or planks that appear friendly and modern at the same time – light-toned wooden floors have been extremely popular for years.
They are particularly appreciated for their timeless elegance, which adapts to any living concept and visually enlarges spaces. Even small rooms with little natural light gain a sense of spaciousness. Furniture can also be easily combined with light tones.
How are our light Colors created?
To achieve light tones in our natural wood planks, the surface is either white-oiled and/or lye-treated or deep white-natured. Naturally light wood types are refined with colorless natural oil that only slightly enhances the surface.
What sets mafi apart from other wooden floors in this regard is the natural, silky matte surface that doesn't artificially alter the wood surface. On the contrary, we emphasize the unique character of each wood type and leave the plank open-pored. This allows for easy repairs even with light tones. Additionally, mafi completely avoids chemical, harmful additives.
You can find our light color variations exemplified in Oak Clear and Larch:
Oil Finish in Natural
The naturally warm color tone of the wood is further accentuated by oiling with colorless linseed oil-based oil. The wood's grain is beautifully highlighted in this finishing step. What remains is a pleasant texture without a bothersome oil film. The wood retains its open-pored nature and feels pleasantly warm to the bare feet.
1x natural and 1x white oiled or raw Wood Look
This beautiful mixed oil finish is a successful intermediate tone that only slightly softens the natural tone's warmth. Planks with this surface treatment work for both cool and warm color concepts.
In the raw wood look, the planks are also treated with nourishing fats that penetrate deep into the wood, strengthening it from the inside and making it resistant to stains. However, the raw wood plank appears visually untreated because the warm color tone of the plank is not further “enhanced”.
White oiled Floors
The next step is white oiling. The pigmented oil gives the wooden floor a calm and clean appearance. White oil adds a modern touch to any interior and can also be intensified or softened with the subsequent soap care.
Extreme White Oil
The extremely white oil turns any warm parquet into a light floor. White oil softens the surface elements and creates a modern appearance. Like with white oiling, the natural wood floor can be further intensified in color with subsequent soap care.
Lye-treated and white oiled
At mafi, only softwoods are lye-treated. Lye reduces the color and allows for a lighter, whiter result while preserving the natural grain and texture of the wood.
Deep White natured
The lightest surface in mafi's portfolio complements all interior styles. Whether it's softer softwoods like larch or spruce, or sturdy oak and ash, the deep white naturalized surface always exudes a friendly and unique charm.
