Grades OAK
OAK CHARACTER BECOMES OAK PRIMA AND OAK VERA
We are constantly working to process wood—a valuable natural resource—in a way that conserves resources. For this reason, we are now offering two new grades between our existing OAK Clear and OAK Country grades. These two new grades replace the previous OAK Character grade; with this clearer classification, we ensure that our customers know exactly what to expect:
OAK Character becomes:
OAK Prima is a smooth grade with few knots. The few knots are highlighted with gold.
OAK Vera has a very natural appearance with fewer protruding knots. As with the OAK Character, the knots are sealed in brown.

OAK Prima
The planks of the OAK Prima are mostly sound, with a calm, uniform grain pattern. Occasional sound knots and slight end cracks may be present. Fills up to 20 mm in diameter are sealed with golden wood filler.
The OAK Prima is available in all our installation formats and is also offered as the Vulcano Medium and Vulcano Variant. The filler is adjusted accordingly.

OAK Vera
The planks in the OAK Vera collection are mostly naturally knotty and feature a lively, characterful grain. Natural knots are desirable, and slight end cracks may be present. Fills up to 30 mm in diameter are filled with brown wood filler.
The OAK Vera collection is also available in our standard installation sizes and can be ordered in the Vulcano Medium or Vulcano variants.

Samples
“A few knots in a lot of wood—what pleases customers makes sampling more difficult.”
In particular, subtle grades such as OAK Prima, as well as the versatile OAK Vera, cannot be adequately represented on small hand samples and can only be shown to a limited extent even on sample boards.
The samples therefore serve primarily as color samples—that is, a combination of wood species, thermal treatment, and oil finish—and must be supported by digital technology.
To this end, we provide the sorting charts shown above, which can also be accessed via a QR code for new patterns. Existing resources, such as our website and catalog, will also provide additional support following the transition to the new sorting system.
In addition, putty samples will soon be available; these samples display putty colors on various color swatches measuring 10 x 10 cm and can be used for consultation in the showroom.
Combining these options is the perfect way to fully address the issue of aesthetics.
