THE HARDWOOD OF THE FUTURE?

THE ASH

Ashwood is in no way inferior to oak in terms of resistance and endurance. Most commonly used in furniture making, ash is also known as a material for baseball bats – that speaks to its hardness.

The wood features a clear grain pattern that emphasizes the natural character of the material. Depending on the brushing, the growth rings can appear more or less pronounced. Walking barefoot, in particular, helps to appreciate a genuine natural wood floor.

The appearance is especially striking due to the low number of knots, giving the planks an elegant, modern look. Depending on the grade, ash can be available with a core or, much more homogeneous, as white ash.

An Overview of our Natural Ashwood Floors

CALM AND AESTHETIC

The UNI ASH

The UNI ASH is an advancement of the COR ASH and serves the premium segment, but it remains significantly more affordable than a comparable oak flooring.

A material called white ash is used for this floor. This grade is much more homogeneous and does not include any brown core, which gives the parquet a particularly exclusive and simple appearance.

There are hardly any knots on the floor, but the grain is clearly noticeable.

VIBRANT AND AUTHENTIC

The COR ASH

The base material used is core ash. This means that many planks contain a brown core, creating a lively interplay of colors in the planks.

The result is an unadulterated, innovative natural wood floor that has already won over the designers of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Athens in the graphite grey oiled version.

For a more vibrant option, the natural or white oiled colors bring out the core in the wood significantly.

The ASH Vulcano Medium

The ASH Vulcano Medium is literally “baked” using the chemical-free thermowood treatment called Vulcano. The drying process darkens the wood's base tone, resulting in a warm, light brown to yellowish hue in the case of ASH Vulcano Medium.

The grade is calm and has few knots, making Ash Vulcano Medium a popular alternative to Oak Clear.

ASH, THE TREE

Origin and Distribution

The ash tree is native to Europe and mainly thrives in temperate climate zones. It can grow up to 40 meters in height and live for over 100 years. Around the age of 80, its ability to sequester CO2 becomes stagnant. The ash tree is an adaptable species that can relatively well adjust to climatic changes.

We source our ash wood from the Balkan region, from small, sustainable forestry operations with which we have been collaborating for many years.
